Room One Writing
Here is some of the wonderful writing that the children in Room One have done this term.
Liam Malone
By Hunter Ryan
Today I am going to write about Liam Malone. He won three medals. Two were gold and one was silver. He has special legs called blades. When he was one year old he had to get his legs cut off. He is 22 now. He is going to hold the New Zealand flag.
The Beach
By Anahera Pairama
I went to the beach with my Mum and Dad. My dad is teaching me to surf.
Fishing
By Ryan Hurring
I caught a fish at the old whitebait stand. I dropped the fish because it was too slippery. I put it back because it was too little.
The Spider
By Peter McCone
In the weekend I saw a spotty spider and it was friendly because it didn’t make any cobwebs.
Chicken Licken
By Te Anu Brown
I practiced for the Chicken Licken play. I am Goosey Loosey and I am going to wear white.
Pet Day
By Katie Watt
I think we should have a pet day because I will bring my puppy. My puppy is black and her name is Pippa.
Chicken Licken
By Jack O’Connor
Last night it was the Chicken Licken play. The lights were different. The people were laughing because the play was funny. The people were clapping. It was fun.
The Crane and the Truck
By Jaxson Merrett
The crane lifted the classroom on the truck. The truck is cool.
Daffodil
By Blake Glover
I got a new chicken called Daffodil. She laid 11 eggs in the hen house.
The Flower
By Laura Van der Horst
My flower is in the garden.
Whio
By Isabella Bennett
On Saturday I was looking at stoats on the internet and I saw two stoats using sharp teeth to crush little Whio duckling’s bones.
Skatepark
By Anaru West
I went to the skatepark.
Chicken Licken
Here are some photos of the children in Room One and Two before their Chicken Licken performance last week. We are so proud of how well the children performed up on stage! Thank you to the parents for their support by helping with the making of masks and providing costumes. We had a wonderful Arts Week!

Grandparents Day
We really enjoyed having our grandparents visit us at school. We heard stories of what it was like in the "olden days" at school. We shared our sunflower art and clubs crafts. We all danced the hokey tokey and the bird dance. Mrs Blair had a game for us to play. Here we are reading our books to our grandparents...
Arts Week
This week is our school Arts Week. As a part of this we have set the library area up as an art gallery with all the art we have been working this term. This is a preview of Room 1 and 2's wonderful art. Come along and have a look and enjoy our artwork!
