Welcome to term 3

Term 3 in Room 1 and 2

It is hard to believe we are already at the end of Week 1! It has been great to see everyone back at school this week well rested and keen for learning. We are looking forward to meeting with you on Tuesday/Wednesday next week at Interviews.

Here are some of the things that will be happening this term.

Science/Technology Topic - Milk

PE – Cross Country, Skipping, Swimming

Music – Folk Dance, Weekly singing

Health – Relating to others

Maths – Measurement – (weight, length, volume)

Oral Language – Performing plays, Mandarin, Maori

We are also introducing PMP (Perceptual Motor Programme) into our programme this term. The programme involves children rotating around activity stations that develop a range of skills such as co-ordination, balance, eye tracking, locomotion and fitness. We will be running the programme every Monday and Tuesday afternoon 1:45 – 2:45pm.

Melting ice science

Room 2's writing about melting ice

First we got some ice and we heated it up with the hair dryer. Next the ice melted in the ice cream containers. After that we put the ice outside. Then we went inside. Finally it went up in the sky. Matt

Balloon rockets

Room 1 and 2 made balloon rockets for science. This is Room 2's writing:-

First we got a line. Then we taped a balloon to a straw. Next we had a balloon race. Room 2 won twice. After that we had another race with big and little and little won. Last of all we were done. Kaleb

Yesterday we did science and we had races because we were good. First we tied the duct tape to the straw. Then the balloon went to Shanelle. Matt

Yesterday we did science. Then we had fish line. Then we put on the duct tape. Then we taped the balloon. Then we blew the balloon. It went to the end. Then Room 2 won the race two times. Emelia
